After a nasty five year legal slug-fest, John Densmore and Jim Morrison, represented by his Estate (parents Clara and George Morrison and in-laws Columbus and Penny Courson), have prevailed in litigation that has finally prohibited the use of the Doors name, and the image of Jim Morrison, by defendants Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger. The case was resolved after an appeal to the California Supreme Court, which upheld the ruling of the lower court, presided over by Hon. Gregory Alarcon. Los Angeles Times.
An upcoming documentary, produced by Dick Wolf and directed by Tom DiCillo, is slated for release in the near future.
