It was 35 years ago this year that the Beatles conquered American music fans with their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, an event watched about as closely as the moon landing.
To commemorate, on July 15, Paul McCartney appeared on the roof of the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater, playing Get Back for the lunchtime crowds, after which he appeared with David Letterman.
I saw the original in London, with all four Fabs up on the roof of Apple Corps. It was then and still appears to be a terrific way to spend your lunch hour.
