LOCK, STOCK AND URINALS
"We're going to take it all," said CBGB's ower Hilly Kristal (pictured with Steve Van Zant outside the club), after announcing that the legendary breeding ground of the punk movement will shift operations to Sin City sometime in the next few months. They close down in October.
After 33 years in the East Village, Hilly plans to take the bars, the doors, the toilets and the urinals from the club with him, to maintain the club's original ambience. He also plans to continue to find and promote new music.
Hilly has a few Vegas locations in mind, and is in talks with several interested developers. However, it's not all plain sailing. Hilly explains in more detail to Pollstar.

Thanks for this story!
I've linked to you,
I wrote a little blurb of my own.
I was wondering what had finally become of the infamous CBGB /OMFUG after last year's
lease debacle...

I can't believe it, my husband played there when they were playing smaller venues, and I have so many friends who play there now! I'll have to tell him.
