For a long time, friends have been urging me to write a book about my experiences in the music business and beyond. Yes, yes, I'd say, I really should. Then off I'd go and commit my stories to other people's message boards, snippets on Facebook, and other cyber areas, where the stories would basically vanish from sight after a short while, and I'd be reduced to, once again, bending the ear of long-suffering listeners, (like my friend Artie Wayne, who told me this morning to set up a blog and get on with it!), or making more amusing little posts doomed to cyber-oblivion. Time keeps slipping, slipping into the future, and so I resolved to give it a whirl.
My name is Sally Stevens. I was born in London, moved to Los Angeles in the late 60s, and have been in the music business since 1964. The rest of it will hopefully be revealed over the coming days.
This is me at my desk in the promotion department of Elektra Records, circa 1971.
